My name is Amanda, but I’ve been known as Almac (read: All Mac) my entire life. My dad gave me the nickname because it was my initials and has called me that ever since.

I am a nerd. My husband, Danny, is an even bigger nerd.   We play Magic the Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons and all sorts of board games. Danny is the master of stupid, puny jokes. Loves them, the cornier the better. I’m usually found with my head buried in a book, or cooking something up in the kitchen. I love making my own recipes, herbal concoctions and crafts. We both read comic books and watch old television shows and corny movies. We like true crime stories and comedies.

We just bought a home in Lawrence, Kansas. We will slowly make it our own….since I have to share it with him, I guess Danny can have a say in how it’s decorated. 🙂

Our goal is to live a more balanced life. Growing some of our own food, canning and freezing our own meals, budgeting our bills all while trying to eat well and have some adult time is important to us.

We are the owners of Brainwashed Soap. You can check out our story for that here.

We aren’t perfect, but we are striving to be the best we can be. This includes making mistakes and working our way through things we learn as we go.

I started this blog as a way to keep up with family members, because I would be terrible at writing the family newsletter (does anyone still do that?). It is slowly morphing into more than that (mostly a cover to show how “normal” we are, in case anyone asks).

Come introduce yourself over on our Facebook page. We’d love to meet you and are looking forward to your posts!
