Hay time

Yesterday, my dad and Dee cut, raked and baled a field of hay. I think there were 19 big bales of hay out there. It’s been so warm, they were able to do it all in one day, whereas normally we have to let it dry for at least a day.

It’s supposedly back to the wet weather this week, so it’s good we got some done. Still have about 25 acres left with all the extra fields we get from the neighborhood.

We took a couple of the kids fishing yesterday. It was the first time in a long time for me to go….I used to fish all the time. Luckily, all my poles still work, though a couple need new reels. 🙂

I have a couple of new soap recipes to try and some massage and beard oil to make. But first, I have to clean the kitchen from the weekend festivities.

There’s a new store open in Lawrence, it’s Sprouts. We went on Saturday and had fun looking at all the neat stuff they have. Bulk prices there are pretty good. I bought some citric acid to make bath balms. My cousin bought some ground kangaroo. We tried that for dinner. It wasn’t bad at all. I will try and get the recipe up today, so if you are feeling adventurous, you can try it too!

I hope you had a safe and happy fourth of July. What kind of food did you eat?
