Rabbits

We butchered rabbits. Actually, by we, I mean a friend’s husband did the hard work. I just watched, learned and held things when needed.

I was so young when my parents had rabbits that I didn’t know what I was doing. So I asked Greg and Brook over at http:// facebook.com/HomeSpunRelics to come help me out. I love these two! They are an extremely talented husband and wife and they are 2 of the nicest people I have ever met. Check out their page. You’ll see what I mean!

I now have 6 rabbits in the freezer and less chores to do in winter. Yay, me.

Now, I’m trying to decide if I should buy a breeding pair of rabbits to have babies in the spring so we can butcher in the fall. I would, of course, keep the pair. That cuts down on chores, but still provides another lean meat for the table. And, since I’m not going to show, they don’t have to be pedigreed or show quality.

Something to think about through winter.

I am happy to be back to blogging. I’ve missed it. Now off to work!
